Man killed in hit-and-run crash on Woodforest Boulevard in Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Woodforest Boulevard, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. https://youtu.be/i-j-jYKZElw On Friday, February 20, 2026, at approximately 8:01 p.m., Rayford Howard was walking from south to north across Woodforest Boulevard in the 12800 block. Investigators said he stepped from westbound lane number one into westbound lane number two when he was struck by a white Ram pickup truck. The driver of the Ram pickup did not stop to render aid and left the scene. Howard sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating.
