According to police, the officers were traveling northbound to assist other officers at a fatal stabbing scene in the 7300 block of Bigwood, where the suspect was still on scene. Investigators believe the officers' vehicle was struck by another vehicle possibly exiting a nearby parking lot or side street. Moments later, the patrol unit caught fire. When officers arrived, the grandson reportedly began fighting with them as well. The woman, believed to be in her mid-60s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. According to HFD, they believe someone may have thrown a rock and intentionally set the fire. The homeowner reportedly lives next door. No injuries were reported. Upon arrival, officers and Houston Fire Department personnel located an overturned vehicle off the roadway. One adult male was found at the scene and pronounced deceased.
