Deputy Shot by 16-Year-Old in Woodland Pines
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - A Harris County sheriff's deputy, who has served six years with the Harris County Sheriff's Office (HCSO), was discharged from the hospital on Saturday after being shot by a teenage burglar in northeast Harris County, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez reported.
The incident occurred shortly before 2 a.m. on Cactus Bend Drive near the Woodland Pines community off Atascocita Road. Sheriff Gonzalez explained that the office had received several reports of teens breaking into vehicles. Upon arrival at the scene, the deputy encountered three individuals, believed to be in their mid to late teens. As the deputy was exiting his patrol car, two fled, and the third teen brandished a firearm and shot the deputy.
