HOUSTON, TX – A Houston police officer was injured in a suspected DWI crash early Saturday morning while conducting traffic control for an earlier incident on the North Freeway. https://youtu.be/Wj69723OcM4 The crash occurred around 1:28 a.m. on the northbound entrance ramp near the 10100 block of the North Freeway Service Road, just before West Road. While the officer was blocking the entry ramp, a pickup truck struck the patrol vehicle, causing significant damage and injuring the officer. The officer was transported to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition. The driver of the pickup truck is in custody, and investigators believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
