HOUSTON, TX – Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a male at The Link Apartments at 14723 West Oaks Plaza Drive about 10:55 p.m. on September 14, 2024. https://youtu.be/x-woz9Sz-wo According to HPD Homicide Division investigators, patrol officers responded to a suspicious person with a weapon call at the complex. A caller reported hearing gunshots and seeing individuals flee the area with weapons. Officers arrived and found an unresponsive male suffering multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim, identified as Austin Pham, 23, deceased at the scene. Further investigation identified D'Marion Manuel, 21, as a suspect. HOUSTON, TX – Firefighters with the Houston Fire Department responded to a fire at an abandoned flea market at 4821 E. Tidwell Road in the East Little York–Homestead area around 8:59 p.m. this past Sunday. https://youtu.be/Gn0-NQKI77c According to HFD, crews arrived to find heavy fire coming from the structure and began a defensive attack. A drone was used to assist with operations. The fire was brought under control, and one firefighter was transported to a hospital with chest pains. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. A total of 56 personnel responded, including crews from Stations 23, 19, 31, 45, 12, 30, 34, 58, Rescue 42, and Rehab 8.

HOUSTON, TX – Houston Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash in the 1400 block of West Bellfort around 10:30 p.m. last night. https://youtu.be/0SAfvDvoBFQ Police say a woman in her late 30s was driving westbound when she left the roadway and struck a tree in the center median. The vehicle caught fire after the crash. Witnesses reported seeing the vehicle burning but did not see any other vehicles. According to police, initial indications suggest speed played a factor. Roadway evidence and toxicology results will be reviewed as the investigation continues. No passengers were in the vehicle.

West Hardy was closed in both directions while officers with the Vehicular Crimes Division investigated, but it has since reopened. HOUSTON, TX – Houston police are investigating after a convenience store clerk was shot multiple times during a robbery at the Greenlight Convenience Store on Scott Street and Barberry Drive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DzUwCvARUU Police say the shooting happened as the clerk was closing the store. Two masked men approached and demanded a bag the clerk was holding. The clerk was shot once at the front of the store and ran around the side, where he collapsed. The suspects followed him and started fighting to get the bag before shooting him several more times. According to police, the suspects left with approximately $1,500 and several IDs. The clerk was taken to a local hospital.

HOUSTON, TX - An intoxicated driver ran a red light at a high rate of speed and crashed into a Bellaire Police Department patrol vehicle near Hillcroft Avenue and Willowbend Boulevard. https://youtu.be/crqOHFpbDtE The collision occurred around 1:13 a.m. while Bellaire officers were in the area searching for a suspect vehicle related to a criminal investigation that began the day before. According to police, dash camera video shows the sedan, which was not connected to the investigation, ran the red light before striking the patrol unit. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. According to police, three adult males inside a vehicle told officers they were parked in the area when the victim began firing gunshots into their car.
