Homeowner chases and fatally shoots man who allegedly stole his barbecue pit
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting after a homeowner allegedly shot and killed a man attempting to steal his barbecue pit.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office responded to a call in the 15000 block of Ralston Road near Kentington Oak around 5 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered a deceased male.
According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, preliminary investigations indicate the deceased allegedly stole or tried to steal a barbecue pit from a residence. The homeowner gave chase, and gunfire was exchanged, though it's unclear if both men fired.

The suspected thief was struck and died at the scene. The homeowner has been detained. Further investigations are ongoing.
