HOUSTON - Jan. 28, 2024 - 12:10 a.m. - A major accident occurred on the mainlanes of 59, the Southwest Freeway heading northbound in Houston. The incident involved a motorcycle and two vehicles. The motorcyclist, attempting to take an exit at the last minute, collided with a vehicle and was ejected from the bike. The motorcyclist landed in the exit lane and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another car, unable to avoid the motorcycle, collided with it, though the rider was no longer on it. No other injuries were reported. Investigations into the crash are ongoing.

HARRIS COUNTY - Jan. 28, 2024 - A shooting occurred outside a hookah lounge in the 21800 block of Katy Freeway, as reported by Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez. The incident, involving two adult males, started with a disturbance in the parking lot. As one of the parties drove away, he fired shots towards the other male. The wounded male was transported by Lifeflight in serious condition. The male who fired the shots fled eastbound in a white Mercedes Benz. Authorities are requesting anyone with information about the incident to contact the Harris County Sheriff's Office at 713-221-6000 or to get in touch with Crime Stoppers of Houston. The investigation is continuing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

HOUSTON - On Jan. 27, 2024, at 11 p.m., the Houston Police Department responded to a call at 6000 Bissonnet in Houston. A male patient reported to be having seizures pointed a loaded firearm at responding firemen. To escape, both firemen jumped from the second floor. One sustained an arm injury, the other minor facial injuries. Both were taken to a local hospital. The patient was arrested, and charges are expected.

COLUMBUS, TEXAS - In the early hours of this morning, the Columbus Fire Department responded to a car fire on Highway 71 near Richter Road. The incident, which occurred at approximately 2:00 AM, presented unique challenges due to the presence of magnesium in the vehicle and a ruptured fuel tank. HARRIS COUNTY, TX – An adult female suspect was taken into custody in front of Memorial Hermann Hospital following a brief pursuit by Harris County constable deputies. The incident, originating from a traffic stop in the 14200 block of East Sam Houston Parkway North, led to a chase after the driver refused to stop. HOUSTON, TEXAS – Houston police have confirmed a fatal incident where a pickup truck veered off a connector ramp, resulting in a fire on the Eastex Freeway. The accident occurred just before 3 a.m. at the junction of Highway 59 and Interstate 610. The driver of a Dodge Ram, while traveling west on Interstate 610, attempted to take the exit ramp to Highway 59 north. During this maneuver, the driver lost control of the vehicle. The pickup truck subsequently overturned, falling off the ramp and landing on the street below. This impact sparked a fire. Upon their arrival, emergency responders found the driver's body at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been released as of now. Authorities have indicated that the crash appeared to involve only this single vehicle.

CLEVELAND, TEXAS (JANUARY 27, 2023) - The Cleveland Fire Department successfully conducted a rescue operation for an adult and a child whose small vehicle was swept off County Road 388 due to flooding. The vehicle was trapped with water still covering the road at the time of the incident. The suspect was then shot in the upper extremities by a bystander who witnessed the robbery as the robber was fleeing. HOUSTON, Texas - January 20, 2024 - A shooting at a traffic light in northwest Houston resulted in the death of a woman. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. at the intersection of North Houston Rosslyn and West Gulf Bank Road. After being shot, the driver lost control of her car, crashing into a dumpster in a nearby parking lot, according to the Houston Police Department (HPD). The suspect may have been in a silver Ford F-150 pickup truck, but the motive for the shooting is currently unknown.
