Suspect in custody on $2 million bond after fatal shooting in Lake Jackson Farms area

BRAZORIA COUNTY, TX – A suspect is in custody following a fatal shooting that occurred in the Lake Jackson Farms area on the afternoon of May 31. According to the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call stemming from a domestic dispute and located one individual who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Life Flight transported the victim to a hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased. The suspect, identified as 41-year-old Curtis Gunter, initially fled the scene but later surrendered to deputies with the Matagorda County Sheriff’s Office.
