HOUSTON - A woman was killed after her vehicle collided with the rear of a stalled 18-wheeler on the westbound lanes of South Loop West near Kirby Drive. Houston police responded around midnight following reports of a crash. According to investigators, a passenger vehicle struck the rear of a stalled 18-wheeler. The female driver of the passenger vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased. Police said the woman's identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. No one else was inside the passenger vehicle at the time of the crash. Around 11:30 p.m., Houston police responded to Cullen Food Mart in the 8900 block of Cullen Boulevard after reports of a shooting. Officers arrived and found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he is believed to be in critical condition. Investigators said what led to the shooting remains unknown. Detectives are gathering information, reviewing surveillance footage, and working to determine exactly what happened. HOUSTON - A family disturbance between two brothers turned deadly Friday night after an altercation escalated into a fatal shooting in southeast Houston. Around 8 p.m., Houston police responded to the 2500 block of Craigmont, near Telephone Road, following reports of a disturbance involving two brothers. According to investigators, the argument escalated into a physical altercation after both brothers produced weapons.
