Austin, TX – Governor Greg Abbott has requested federal disaster assistance for Harris County in the wake of the devastating three-alarm fire that tore through the 3 Corners West Apartments on Teague Street in northwest Houston on August 19–20, 2025. HOUSTON, TX – Early Sunday morning, deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash in the 600 block of Atascocita Road around 5 a.m. along with the Eastex Fire Department. https://youtu.be/5nlNNhkrOLY Units arrived to find a white pickup truck fully engulfed in flames after striking a power pole and gas main. The driver fled the scene and has not been located. The roadway is expected to remain shut down for several hours. HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A shooting occurred after a minor fender bender involving a passenger car and a box truck near Clay Road and Greenhouse around 1:40 a.m. According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the drivers pulled into a parking lot, where a firearm was displayed and shots were exchanged.
