According to police, investigators believe the Hyundai Sonata crossed the center line and struck the GMC pickup head-on. According to the Houston Police Department, the crash occurred around 3:32 a.m. on Dorsett near Pillot Street. Investigators said the vehicle was traveling northbound on Dorsett when it struck a parked 18-wheeler. After the collision, the vehicle traveled into a grassy area next to a fence, where it caught fire. Man charged with murder after shooting girlfriend in east Houston

HOUSTON - A man has been charged with murder following the fatal shooting of a woman in the 11100 block of Maritime Drive in east Houston. The victim was identified as Tonya Swink, 41. According to investigators, Swink and the suspect, Cody Prince, 29, were in a dating relationship. Police allege the couple began arguing and that Swink was threatening to end the relationship when Prince allegedly shot her. Swink was pronounced deceased. Following the investigation, Prince was charged with murder and booked into the Harris County Jail. The investigation remains ongoing.
