According to police, investigators believe the Hyundai Sonata crossed the center line and struck the GMC pickup head-on. HOUSTON — A man was killed early Sunday morning after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a parked 18-wheeler and caught fire on Dorsett in northeast Houston. According to the Houston Police Department, the crash occurred around 3:32 a.m. on Dorsett near Pillot Street. Investigators said the vehicle was traveling northbound on Dorsett when it struck a parked 18-wheeler. After the collision, the vehicle traveled into a grassy area next to a fence, where it caught fire. According to the Houston Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched around 11:45 p.m. to the 3200 block of Center Street after receiving a report of a possible fire. When crews arrived, they found fire inside the abandoned structure and began an offensive attack. According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded at about 3:38 a.m. to the 1500 block of Lombardy after reports of a shooting. Investigators said a vehicle occupied by a male driver and the 20-year-old woman, who was seated in the back seat, was parked at a business in the 4800 block of the Gulf Freeway with another SUV.
