Motorcyclist killed after falling from flyover near downtown Houston

HOUSTON, TX - A motorcyclist was pronounced deceased after falling from a flyover onto U.S. 59 northbound around 11:35 p.m. https://youtu.be/Ks9su0Gpa5Q Police believe the man was traveling southbound on Interstate 45 and taking the elevated ramp to U.S. 59 northbound when his motorcycle went over the railing. The rider landed in a grassy area before coming to rest along the edge of U.S. 59 northbound under Peirce Street. He was believed to be in his 20s. Police initially received reports of a crash but had difficulty locating it. No witnesses reported seeing the rider go over the railing. Investigators are working to determine whether another vehicle was involved.

A third man, also in his early 40s, was shot several times in the legs. Officers found one of the men lying in the street near an overturned vehicle in a ditch. Weapons were found inside that vehicle, while another vehicle contained a large amount of alcohol. The man shot in the legs told investigators he heard gunfire, stepped out of his vehicle and was shot. He then drove to his brother’s home, and his brother took him to a hospital. 10-year-old girl injured in electric scooter crash

A 10-year-old girl was injured after being struck by a vehicle while riding an electric scooter at Lincolns Meadow Drive and Dukes Run Drive. According to Constable Mark Herman, the preliminary investigation indicates the girl entered the intersection after failing to stop at a stop sign. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Deputies applied a tourniquet because of the girl’s injuries and significant bleeding. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Westbound Lincolns Meadow Drive was closed while emergency crews investigated and cleared the scene.
