Dallas Police Seek Public’s Help in Homicide Investigation on Ledbetter

DALLAS, TX – The Dallas Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in a homicide investigation that occurred in the 330 block of E. Ledbetter Drive and have released a picture of two individuals they believe are connected to the case. At approximately 8:45 p.m. on July 24, 2024, Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 330 block of E. Ledbetter Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered two men had been shot inside the location. Estevan Narvaez Jr., 40, was pronounced dead at the scene. Charges have been filed against Juan J. Mares-Chaves, 57, in the fatal shooting of his wife at 8830 Ledge Street around 4:45 p.m. on July 24. Mares-Chaves is charged with murder in the 177th State District Court. According to the Houston Police Department, HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the residence and found an unresponsive woman with multiple gunshot wounds lying in the driveway.
