HOUSTON, TX – About 50 people were displaced following a two-alarm fire at the Life at Jackson Square Apartments in the Meyerland area on Braesvalley. https://youtu.be/7q5zidoDu3E Firefighters were dispatched around 2:30 a.m., and neighbors assisted crews in evacuating individuals, many of whom were disabled and elderly. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. A METRO bus was brought to the scene to provide warmth while residents waited for assistance from the American Red Cross. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. However, broken hydrants and rain conditions made the response more difficult for firefighters.

Update 12/4/25 - Houston Police have confirmed the crash at El Dorado Boulevard and Hickory Knoll Drive was fatal, stating the 42-year-old male driver of a Ford Focus died at the scene after failing to yield at a stop sign and being struck by an eastbound Ford F-250 pulling a trailer. The collision pushed both vehicles into westbound lanes, where the F-250 then struck an Acura MDX.
