Responding officers reported that a Jeep traveling northbound crossed the median for reasons that are still unclear. After crossing the median, the Jeep collided head-on with a silver Mercedes moving southbound. There were four occupants in the Jeep at the time of the accident - a man, a woman, a teenager, and a child. June 17, 2023 - A vehicle shooting occurred on the 15800 block of the Eastex Freeway in Houston, Texas around 12:25 a.m. The incident involved two vehicles, according to the Houston Police Department (HPD). One of the vehicles, a pickup truck crashed alongside the feeder road, while the other vehicle fled the scene. At the moment, HPD reports that there have been no injuries related to the incident. The victim was walking in a parking lot around 10:30 p.m. after buying tacos from a street vendor when two men, described as Hispanic and possibly involved in gang activity, approached him. The men did not engage in much conversation before one of them shot him in the arm. The victim doesn't believe he was the intended target of this attack, suggesting a possible case of mistaken identity.
